1:
The papermaking process starts with water being added to apaper beater.
As the beater runs, ingredients are added to the water. The ingredients
added vary depending on the type of paper being made. The range from T-shirts
to dried grass. Our paper is made from natural and reused materials |
2:This is what the pulp looks like when the beater has finished grinding
the ingredients together. At this point, the pulp is drained from the
machine into a bucket. From paper to pulp |
3:
The bucket of pulp is then poured into a vat and more water is added. |

Next, sizing is poured into the pulp. This is only added so you may use
our paper to do things like write or paint on. |
5:
A paper screen is then dipped into the pulp mixture. The screen picks
up the pulp and the water drains from the bottom of the screen. To drain more water we shake the screen and let it sit a few minutes. The shape and size of the paper depends on the type of screen used. |
6:
After draining excess water from the pulp, the screen is flipped upside
down, so the pulp side of the screen is face down. the water is pushed
down and the screen is removed. |

The paper is layered between blankets. Once there are enough sheets,
a piece of wood is put on top and bottom. Pressing the sheets of papers
eliminates the rest of the water in the pulp and flattens into sheets. |
8:
After being pressed, the paper is then removed from the press and then
from the blankets that they are placed between. The sheets are then
laid flat on screens to be dried. |
9:
After being put flat on a screen, the sheets are left alone, and they
eventually dry. Size and color of paper varies, depending on how the
paper is made. |
